Teradata-Fastload Plug-In for Pentaho Data Integrator

Aschauer EDV has developed a new Teradata-Fastload Plug-In for the Pentaho Data Integrator and offers a free download for it on its homepage.

This extension of the Pentaho Data Integrator can be easily integrated into job-processing due to high-volume loading of a Teradata database in the course of an ETL-process (Extraction – Transformation – Loading). As a result, the Teradata Data Warehouse will be loaded with the usual high speed of the Teradata utility.

The Teradata-Fastload Plug-In uses the Teradata Fastload utility, which was integrated seamlessly into the Pentaho Data Integrator. The operation of it is extremely easy.

The Teradata-Fastload Plug-In basically supports two different modes:

-       As solitary step within a transformation, completely independent of the remaining steps. The plug-in calls up for this the Teradata Fastload application (with the defined parameters of the user-interface). -       The plug-in can also be integrated seamlessly into a transformation-chain. If no control-file was defined, the plug-in expects data from the preceding step and gives those on to the Fastload tool. The necessary control file for the Teradata Fastload is generated upon demand. The user-options of the Teradata Fastload are thereby taken into consideration.

The Teradata Fastload plug-in is licensed and published under the LGPL and downloadable at the website of Aschauer EDV (http://www.aschauer-edv.at) and will be incorporated into the Community Edition of the Pentaho Data Integrator by the end of this year.
